Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit and can make your experience more efficient.
2. Cookies we use
We use a minimal set of cookies, described in the table below:
| Cookie / storage key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-* (Supabase auth) | Keeps you logged in to your account. Essential for authentication to work. | Session / up to 1 week |
| view_{recipeId} (localStorage) | Prevents the same recipe view being counted more than once per hour. Stored in browser localStorage, not transmitted to our server. | 1 hour |
| Vercel Analytics | Aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics. No individual tracking or cross-site tracking. No personally identifiable information is stored. | Session |
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies that track you across other websites.
3. Essential cookies
The authentication cookies (sb-*) are strictly necessary for the site to function if you choose to create an account. You cannot opt out of these while remaining logged in. If you browse without an account, no authentication cookies are set.
4. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, which collects aggregated page view data without setting persistent tracking cookies or collecting personally identifiable information. It uses a privacy-by-design approach and does not track you across sessions or other websites.
5. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies currently stored
- Block some or all cookies
- Delete cookies when you close your browser
Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to your account. For instructions specific to your browser, visit your browser’s help documentation.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Check the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
